What a friendly station

In other news, testing is going quite well. After the subordinate bonus nerf, the colonels feel like they're in a good place, now. They might even be a bit too weak, but let's see what you think. I was wondering what this means for captains. One one hand, I feel like I'm throwing them under the bus, by not letting them offer a synergy to colonels and generals. But on the other hand, I think once you're dealing with colonels, you shouldn't really be wasting time with captains, anymore. I still have to check the general.

I'm well on track for a release this coming weekend.

Cheers!

P.S - Oh, yeah. The skip button seems to speed up the game quite a lot. It's faster if you use the mouse, but it's really fast if you use 2-4-3 in a few different places. It feels kinda nice.

I see you are gaining momentum with status update frequency :D
That job offer UI is going to be a real life saver, and of course - looking forward for release :P

Thanks for sharing your progress!

I must admit, I was impatient last week, decompiled your game, and added some modifications by myself. It is quite easy with C# applications, I hope you do not mind.
Mainly, I fixed the clothing bug, nerfed the Colonels to get only the bonus of subordinates, nerfed station boni to 25% (Starport/Headquarter to 50%), and all officer boni to 25%. Furthermore, starting from level 3, relationship increase only requires 3 missions.

I tested it on hard, bonus for industrial stations and relationship level >= 3. I struggled until about week 35, failed the payment once, but had an easy endgame. RNG was a little bit against me because one of the industrial stations had only 2 Captains, both of them friendly. Nevertheless, at the end of the game, it was the most visited station with a level 9 Major and a Colonel (I do not remember the level).

- Station bonus feels balanced now. It does not feel overpowered, but is strong enough that you still prefer missions to industrial stations.

- Officer bonus also felt pretty nice. Even friendly Officers with level 3 are now an interesting choice. Still, it is not overpowered.

- Colonels are great now! They start slightly below your better Majors, but due to the fact that your Majors now level up faster, they quickly build a good subordinate bonus, and soon outperform the most Majors.

- I unlocked the General in week 42 (same week as I reached 1 million), so it didn't had a big impact on the game anymore. But with an initial payment of 9000 (5000 * Stern * 50% Subordinate bonus), it felt quite in place. At that time in the game, you need an average of about 6500 per day, so it definitively is strong enough.

- The high level Majors felt overpowered. The combination of high relationship bonus and good chance to get civilians or even VIP made them a cash cow. Due to the fact that levelling up goes faster, the relationship bonus seems to be too strong.

- Faster relationship increase was fun! I reached the 1 million in week 42, with a level 8 Major, 1 level 5 Captain (friendly), and 5 level 4 Captains (2 of them friendly). I continued until the end, the Major was now level 9, and I had 1 level 6 Captain (friendly) and 8 level 4 Captians (3 of them friendly).

I will nerf the relationship bonus to 1+relationshiplevel and test whether it makes the endgame more interesting.

Tearing open my game doesn't make me want to balance the game for you. It discourages me from continuing work on this game. I didn't give you consent to alter my work. It's not an open-source software. But, I respect that there is a right to repair. I'm flattered that you're so invested in the game I'm creating, but I still feel more hurt than anything else. At least, please do not re-distribute this game.

You're right, I have to apologize. Even if I did it with the best intentions, I do not have the right to modify your game. I should have asked you beforehand. It will not happen again. However, you can be assured that I would never, never distribute the work of someone else, so no worries about this.

I hope you accept my apologies and continue on your great work!

Thanks. No worries. I apologize, too. :) I over reacted. I think I was in shock, lol. But actually, I'm glad you did tell me, because that made me start thinking about how easy or hard unity games are to pry open, and what I might be able to do about it. Thanks!

I do want to say, thank you for testing and letting me know your findings! Those numbers make me quite happy. I'm testing the general now, and I also get similar numbers for them and colonels. I think their payouts are a lot more reasonable than they were in the last build. I think you suggested nerfing the subordinate bonus, and I think that played out really well.
